South Hampshire Partnership invites you to join our Meet the Buyers Programme and the opportunity to pitch to major Public organisations and Private companies from across Hampshire.
Maximise the results of your visit to the South Hampshire Meet the Buyers 2012
Not only are you given the opportunity to meet with large Public and Private sector procurers and network with over 150 attendees, you will also have a chance to attend a FREE of charge pre-event to pick up tips on how to best sell your products and services to major buyers. Through our Meet the Buyers Event we are able to further enhance your visit by getting you direct access to the people you wish to do business with.
Meet and access leading procurement contacts across South Hampshire
Over 20 major procurement teams have committed to participating in the South Hampshire Meet the Buyers Event on the 29 March for one reason alone – to meet potential suppliers.

The structure for the day is simple:
• You register to attend the event and specify the products and/or services you offer and the type of buyer you would be interested in meeting. We will then use our ‘match-making’ service in order to maximise the opportunity to do business for those attending.

• One week before the event you will be sent an appointment diary stating which Buyers you will be meeting and at what time. We will endeavour to schedule you as many appointments as possible but on average you can expect between 4 – 7.

• At the event Buyers will be seated in Buyer’s booths. At your allocated time please make your way over to the appropriate booth where you will have a 10 minute appointment. You will be surprised how even 10 minutes can be enough time to get that vital first introduction, stimulate interest in your product and/or service and agree a course of action.

The meetings run from 9:30 – 4:30. The cost to attend is £95 plus VAT per delegate if you are located within the Partnership area and £395 plus VAT if you are situated outside of this area.

New Support Service for Businesses in the Hampshire

Yesterday saw the launch of a new business alliance, at the inaugural annual conference of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.

Southern Enterprise Alliance, & Hampshire Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to refocus business support in Hampshire. In a ‘one stop’ approach, the Hampshire Business Alliance will remove confusion about business back-up and consolidate the activity of the three bodies to provide the most cohesive and cost-effective structure possible.

The two organisations will remain independent, retaining their own Board and governance arrangements and will remain responsible to their own membership and/or stakeholders.

The aim for the Alliance is quite simple: to enable the three organisations to work together for the benefit of Hampshire Business.

We think this can only be good news for businesses in Hampshire, as the Alliance will be driven by the needs and aspirations of Hampshire businesses.

Mentor-net on Government supported Mentoring Portal

We’re all for spreading the word about the power of mentoring for small businesses and now, thanks to a Government initiative, we are able to reach a wider audience alongside our Dorset counterparts, DorMen.

In an announcement the Government, in conjunction with five high street banks, have launched a new mentoring portal:

www.mentorsme.co.uk

The website provides a single point of access for those seeking mentoring and those seeking to be mentors, covering the whole of the UK.

The Government wants to encourage experienced business people to sign up to mentor new and growing businesses.
Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk said:

“From my own experiences running a small business I know how valuable insight can be from people who have done it all before.

“Small business owners have repeatedly told us that the support they value most comes from other experienced business people. For the first time in the UK, there will be a single, cohesive network of mentoring provision.

“Small firms are the lifeblood of our economy and we are determined to give them every opportunity to succeed and secure the long-term growth we need.”

The launch forms part of the Better Business Finance campaign, set up by the Business Finance Taskforce.

Business Xchange

Business Link knows that running a business can be a lonely place regardless of how many employees you have. The Business Xchange service is a lively and friendly, non-competitive network that brings together Dorset business owners or directors to share ideas, knowledge and resources.

The BusinessXchange service isn’t about cross-selling or lead generation. It’s a business opportunity where you can meet other business owners and find practical solutions to the common issues that most affect your bottom line. The results of which, identify opportunities for improvement, business collaboration and potential joint ventures.
Each BusinessXchange network meeting consists of three parts;

1. Informal networking with 30–50 intelligent business owners over breakfast.
2. Formal introductions and the virtual board discussions.
3. A relevant presentation on business development

The BusinessXchange service is more than just the sum of the breakfast meetings. It helps realise the potential of forward thinking companies, enabling businesses like yours to continue to develop and become a significant force in Dorset. So the BusinessXchange service also includes:

• One to one discussion sessions with your Business Link Adviser for any issues too sensitive for a business networking event.
• Business to Business introductions in a non-competitive environment; for the purpose of learning, sharing, inter-trading and/or consortia building.
• BusinessXchange online community enabling virtual networking and contact building throughout the UK in a 24/7 environment.

If you want to profit from working with others in Dorset and you’re open to new ideas; if you want to develop business contacts and are actively seeking opportunities, we look forward to meeting you.

Please click here to contact us about the service.

BusinessXchange is an initiative funded by WSX Enterprise Ltd.
