Grants, Crowdfunding & Finance – where do I start?
A FREE workshop for Dorset Businesses, fully funded by the ERDF.
This is an opportunity for Dorset businesses to find out more about the funds available to them. This is suitable for businesses either considering an application for finance or those just seeking to enhance their financing knowledge.
Areas to be covered:
Types of Grants – where they fit, what they can offer, criteria and eligibility, how to write a successful application
Types of Finance – where they can fit and what they can offer
What is Crowdfunding and how to run a successful campaign
Being investor ready – giving your business the best chance of being successfully funded
Who should attend?
Suitable for organisations that are looking at options for funding. You may never have made a small funding application before or else have struggled to be successful so far. We will include bid writing tips and techniques. The step-by-step proven approach will help you hone your skills and produce funding applications with a greater chance of success.
By the end of this session, you should be able to:
Understand better the type of funding your business needs
Research sources of funding/funding advice
Explain the need for your project
Articulate the constraints, benefits and impact in a meaningful way.
Produce & submit a funding application
Understand common reasons why funding applications are unsuccessful
We will be offering you the opportunity to book 1-2-1 sessions to talk about your own business needs with our team from The Dorset Growth Hub.
This workshop is completely free and funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It’s delivered by Dorset Growth Hub and WSX Enterprise. It is only open to Dorset, UK registered SME’s and aspiring entrepreneurs within home addresses in Dorset, UK postcodes.
Only one place allowed per business. Please contact the Growth Hub if you wish to reserve a space for another organisation or person.
Please also note that some sectors are not eligible for support on this programme due to Central Government Legislation. These sectors include: *Fishery & Aquaculture, *Primary production, processing and marketing of agricultural products, *Coal, Steel and shipbuilding sectors,*Synthetic Fibres, *Generalised School Age Education, *Banking and Insurance Companies.
