Social Media for Beginners – Bournemouth – Dorset Growth Hub
December 5 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm| Free
Social Media Marketing – beginner level
Most businesses have dabbled with social media. Many, particularly small firms, have effectively given up, or only make the occasional post while feeling frustrated they’re not doing more.
Yet more than 7 out of 10 UK adults use Facebook (OFCOM study 2017). Over half of Facebook users say that discussions on the network influence their choice of what to buy.
This workshop will help businesses that have struggled to make sense of social media, and those that have yet to get started. It’s designed for beginners and it starts with the absolute basics.
Marketing on social media goes far beyond just posting adverts for products and services. This workshop will introduce you to new ways of connecting with the people who could become your customers, helping you to harness the most powerful form of marketing – word-of-mouth recommendations.
The workshop will cover:
• An overview of the leading social networks and how to choose the right one for you
• The different approaches to social media marketing
• Understanding the language of social media
• How to use groups and hashtags effectively
• A guide to social media etiquette
• A template for creating a simple social media marketing strategy
This workshop is completely free and funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It’s delivered by Dorset Growth Hub and WSX Enterprise. It is only open to Dorset, UK registered SME’s and aspiring entrepreneurs within home addresses in Dorset, UK postcodes.
