Southern Enterprise Alliance (SEA)

Southern Enterprise Alliance (SEA) is a private, not-for-profit company.

SEA is the holding company of a small group of businesses with a mission to deliver services and support to the business community and collaborating with partners to deliver enterprise and economic development projects.

We also provide support to local people through business start up and employability programmes.

Vision

To be an innovation catalyst energising and enabling customers to realise their success and promoting progressive economic growth and prosperity.

The Company

SEA is the parent company of WSX Enterprise Limited (www.wsxenterprise.co.uk) and our commercial arm WSX Developments.

Surpluses from SEA are invested back into its principal activity of supporting small and medium-sized businesses through its operating companies.

SEA and its subsidiary companies, work with a wide range of local, regional and national partners to develop and provide value-added support services for businesses and individuals.

We have more than 20 years of experience in managing projects, both large and small, from short contracts to complex programmes operating over many years.

The majority of our employees work in customer-facing roles providing business support, enterprise start-up development, design and innovation services for SMEs, employability programmes and skills/mentoring activities.

The Board of SEA comprises non-executive directors from the private and public sectors.

History

SEA was formed in 2001 to take on the management of the Business Link service across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (formerly Business Link Wessex). Since then it has managed and developed a wide range of support services for businesses and individuals across the South of England.

SEA has designed and successfully delivered a range of contracts and services, each operated under its separate brand to reflect the different services.

Economic Development and Projects

As an experienced and reliable provider of publicly funded and commercial projects and services, the SEA Group operates as a lead partner or in a supporting role within a larger partnership to secure and deliver high-quality projects.

The SEA Group has experience in managing funds from national government agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships, The National Lottery Community Fund and European funding streams such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Interreg.

We are committed to creating new entrepreneurs and sustainable businesses from pre-startups through to established enterprises. This includes the management of Aldershot Enterprise Centre, home to over 40 new and growing businesses.
