Success of WSX Enterprise project that empowers women

One Stop Shop - Interreg Project

WSX has been delighted to be an active partner in the WOMIN programme which has enabled women access to self-employment and employment.

Two events recently took place to mark the end of this successful programme.

The last WOMIN partner meeting hosted by WSX Enterprise took place in Fareham in November where partners shared their achievements and experiences of the project. They also enjoyed a cultural visit to Portsmouth and a trip up the iconic Spinnaker Tower.

On 21st November at Aldershot Enterprise Centre, Adriana Crear, Programme Manager hosted a WOMIN Multiplier event. This incorporated a summary of the programme’s successes and a discussion about its future beyond the end date – the project finished at the end of November 2022.

European Partners gathered at WSX headquarters in Fareham at the last meeting of the successful WOMIN project.

Adriana was delighted with the successes of the programme and the multiplier event,

The project’s aim was to bring unemployed women closer to employment and self-employment and programme delivery focussed on  social and digital skills.

During the event which was attended by local stakeholders and those interested in the topic of women in self-employment, WSX WOMIN trainers shared their experience and knowledge gained during the programme’s delivery. I was pleased that we had over 30 attendees including  stakeholders as well as members of the general public.

The particpants were able to learn how to empower women and how to encourage them to be self-employed. They were also signposted to useful resources. “

The WOMIN project has run over a busy 2 years and there have been several training sessions delivered to women by four trainers from WSX Enterprise. Topics included: communication, self-employment, critical thinking, networking, digital tools, social entrepreneurship and social economy.

The modules allowed women to gain the skills and confidence needed in their journey towards financially independent lives.
