How To Build a Website – WordPress – Bournemouth – Dorset Growth Hub

WordPress is one of the most popular and versatile website platforms, in fact it powers 31% of the internet! If you are considering building your own site or managing an existing WordPress site this workshop perfect for you.
In this workshop we will be exploring some of the fundamentals of the WordPress platform from exploring recommended security and seo plugins to finding the perfect theme. After this workshop you will be fully equipped before exploring and building your own website or maintaining your WordPress.
In this workshop we will cover:
What makes a good website
– Basics of domain names and hosting
– Installing WordPress
– Maintaining and updating your site
– Where to find themes and how to install them
– Important recommended plugins
Please note laptops are required for this workshop as tablets and phones will not enable you to follow along with the instructor.
Please make sure that you are able to attend the event before you book. If you book a place and are not able to attend we reserve the right to exclude you from further bookings where places are in short supply.
This workshop is completely free and funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It’s delivered by Dorset Growth Hub and WSX Enterprise. It is only open to Dorset, UK registered SME’s and aspiring entrepreneurs within home addresses in Dorset, UK postcodes.

Please also note that some sectors are not eligible for support on this programme due to Central Government Legislation. These sectors include: *Fishery & Aquaculture, *Primary production, processing and marketing of agricultural products, *Coal, Steel and shipbuilding sectors,*Synthetic Fibres, *Generalised School Age Education, *Banking and Insurance Companies.
